The story was great.  Then we get to the goddess arc and it went downhill from there.  The ending is true to Keima's character...but I hated it.

Seventh grader is extremely good.  Not quality work, yes, but I had to start from 3rd grade level.

It's a ton of work.  But your drawing skill will rapidly improve.

Also, embarrassingly, I have never finished Kodomo no Jikan despite how much I love the manga, and despite owning all the volumes (I reread the series each time a volume came out). Got scared away by people saying the ending ruins it >->; but honestly at this point I think I just lost track. I imagine I've been missing out quite a bit.

I'd say read it.  I think the main reason why people rail against the ending is because of two things:
1. "man, that escalated fast"
2. "if you squint, you'll see it."

Those are my clues that kind of give away the ending.  Basically the story suddenly picked up and then the ending barely ties things together.

Personally, I was happy with the ending.  It touched on the important points.

Oh right, I got into college so...yeah, anyone got any advice for freshman over here?

Umm, freshman year is easy.  Feel free to play a bit.  Just don't play too hard, cause Sophomore year up can be painful.

And don't forget to talk with your professors.  Many are close to your age and sympathetic to the students.  If you have a good excuse, you can lessen the severity of failures.

Although that one time that I e-mailed my professor and told him that I missed the test after pulling an all-nighter studying.  Not my finest moment.  But he announced to the class the next day that he was willing to drop the test with the lowest score.  What an awesome guy.
